Cheers For New Teeth & Good Sleep!

It's been over a month since our last post. Who knew we could get so busy? I'm having a hard time recognizing that our dear little girl is only months away from her 1st birthday. As each new little tooth pops through, it brings with it clear validation that she's growing quickly and ready for table food!?! Piper is a joy, as she crawls (or scoots) backwards and is enjoying her new found freedom of independent movement. Although, this makes child proofing next to impossible. All of a sudden, those age specifications for toys are obsolete. How can we possibly keep Gray's itsy bitsy Lego's, magnets and other choking hazards away from this curious almost 9 month old? Speaking of Gray, he's fabulous! We had several weeks of sleep protest, which was a struggle. But ultimately, Daddy and Mommy were victorious and Gray has gone back to his normal sleep routines, including a solid mid-day nap. This makes everyone happier, especially Gray. He's getting so big and his vocabulary continues to expand. He's definitely discovered a wild streak within, not sure where that comes from since both of his parents are so mild-mannered?! I do have to say though that I am particularly fond of his devilish grin and on cue giggle. Oh what fun our adventures will be :) And speaking of adventures, we are ready for the temperatures to rise! C'mon already, Spring!! All kidding aside, what a wonderful Winter we've had and we are so grateful for all of our blessings.

Say It Ain't So ...

Ladies and Gents, it's official - Piper is Daddy's Little Girl, no doubt about it. She proclaimed this to the world (er, Gray, Mommy & Daddy) over the weekend with her first words, "DA-DA." And if that wasn't exciting enough, her first tooth pushed through today. Looks as though our little baby girl is growing up, F-A-S-T.

Gray is cruising along beautifully at 2 years & 2 months of age. He keeps us laughing, as his vocabulary grows and his imagination runs wild. Big news for Gray - he starts preschool in the Fall, which is very exciting!

What a month January has been for us. It seems that we spent the better half of the month marinating in Ravens' Purple. However, just as all good things must come to end, the Ravens lost in the AFC Championship. We're still so very proud of them and Gray continues to show his support for the team by proudly wearing his Ravens hat at all times ... including Nap Time. In other news, President Obama visited our fine city this past weekend as well. And Gray sure loves Obama. He especially loves to chant the President's name and share a fist bump with anyone who will participate. Lastly, we enjoyed a beautiful (and first) snowfall of 2009 yesterday. It was very fun to watch and touch.

Until the next time, be good!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All The Way ...

I blinked and it's just days until Santa pays us a visit. Of course, there is so much more to Christmas, but when you're two years old, it's all about the toys and trains. Oh and the cookies and the music! We've had a great month filled with parties and festive holiday traditions. It started with Breakfast with Santa! Pretty cool. Gray was very excited when Santa made his entrance, however when it came time to sit upon Santa's lap, Gray froze .... while Piper smiled and grinned. Who knew?! Expect the unexpected. We've decorated the house, enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and watched "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," OVER AND OVER AND OVER. And now we wait and watch the miracle and magic unfold ... Merry Christmas!!
