Sometimes The Smallest Flower Smells The Sweetest.

We kicked off May with a 1-2 punch in the Virgin Islands. It was a perfect vacation for us. We came away relaxed and refreshed. What more can you ask for?

Gray swam with Wings all by himself. This made us so very proud of our brave little guy. He fell in love with the Iguanas that crowded the sidewalks and trees on St. Thomas. We returned home with a stuffed animal “Dinosaur,” as he calls it. This thing has not left his side yet.

Piper is standing for lengths of time and is cruising a bit. She’s moving fast and keeps us on our toes. She is so unlike her cautious older brother in such ways. Always very curious and gravitates towards danger, that’s our girl! We’re gearing up for her 1st Birthday in the coming weeks and look forward to partying with our friends and family. It’s hard to believe she’s been with us for almost a year now. We are so blessed.

Spring Has Sprung

In an effort to avoid further contamination, my husband and I decided that I should keep the kids out of Music Class over the next two weeks, because we really don't need any sickies to spoil our upcoming vacation. And so we found ourselves venturing off to see the animals at our local ZOO, something we try to do weekly. It was a beautiful day spent with good friends and packed full of fun. As if brushing the goats wasn't enough of a thrill, we decided to head over to visit Daddy at his office (I was told it was "National Bring Your Kids To Work Day"). We concluded our day of excitement and glee with an ice cream cone before dinner, as it seemed only fitting. And for whatever reason, today was one of those days when you feel like things couldn't get any better ...

Gray is so busy ... he's busy growing and trying new things!! Recently, he's way into pirates - songs & toys. Still, he admires all policemen, firemen, trash men, mailmen, pilots and choo-choo drivers. A passing school bus, helicopter or firetruck (really, it's typically an ambulance BUT he doesn't know the difference yet) puts the biggest smile on his face. Gray is such a sweetie, if I do say so myself!

Piper's a fast little one. The speed to which I am referring is when she crawls, as she is not yet walking. Boy, can our girl get around quickly! And while she's little (25th percentile of her age group), she loves to eat -- sliced bananas, blueberries, peas, green beans, applesauce, pasta, meatballs, chicken, fruit bars, Puffs, Cheerios ... the list goes on and on and on. At last count, I believe there were 7 teeth in her mouth and wow, she loves to flash her toothy grin!

Don’t let the snowflakes fool you, Easter is this weekend! So, we decided to find ourselves a real Easter Bunny and have a meet & greet, so to speak.

Mission Accomplished. And we’ve got the tears to prove it.

Here Comes The Sun

We have a major case of Spring Fever at our house. I blame the viruses that set-up camp in our dwelling over the past three weeks. Thankfully, it appears that we’ve bored them and they’re moving on and out! Good news for us, as we return the Land of the Living. After all, here comes the sun … it is April. Rain if you must, because we do enjoy the flowers.

Piper will be ten months old tomorrow. Gray will be 2 1/2 years old at the end of next month. Time is a-flying! So, Gray’s vocabulary is just growing and growing. It’s super fun to listen to him speak and watch him grow, both physically and intellectually. He’s smart and at times a little sassy. But what a love! Fire trucks, Curious George, Choo-Choos, Dinosaurs, Cars & Trucks, Lacrosse, Basketball,  Painting,  all continue to be among his favorites. He still can’t get enough of the movies, whether it be Cars, Finding Nemo or Shrek. Piper is on the move. I repeat, girlfriend can crawl and in every direction. She’ll even stand, if supported. She can dance and she keeps a pretty good beat. If I’m being honest, her moves in conjunction with her adorable facial expressions worry me, well us. And she’s eating … table food galore. Unlike her older brother, I think she’ll have no problem taking down her 1st birthday cake come celebration time in early June. Did I mention she has at least 6 teeth now? Holy Chompers!
